Targumic Aramaic is the Aramaic of the Targums Onkelos, Jonathan etc. The value of Targumic Aramic is the wealth of cultural and historical information that can be gleaned from the Targums. Many Jews had lost the natural ability to communicate effectively in Hebrew and needed translation into Aramaic.
