Textual Criticism

The biblical text was put together by comparing thousands of manuscripts to eliminate erroneus meanings and identify the variant readings. Although the text of the New Testament is in Greek, it was also written and translated in other languages such as Latin, Syriac, Coptic etc. The Old Testament has textual witness in Aramaic, Samaritan and Greek.

By comparing and contrasting the variant readings together with other resources such as the Masoretic text we can formulate an understanding of the wider meaning of the biblical text.
