Modern Languages

On many advanced courses of Theological study such as Masters and Doctoral levels, students are required to demonstrate awareness to read, quote and understand languages such as German and French where much Theological writing has taken place in the last century.

This seems a reasonable requirement in light of the greatness and quantity of Theological literature available. In addition to German and French Theological writings there are an increasing number of great Latin American scholars who are emerging therefore Spanish is a valuable language to learn. Of course Latin and Italian have always been useful theological languages particularly when studying the history of the church, the Vatican or writings of scholars such as Thomas Anquinas or Jerome.

Learning a few of the more relevant modern languages will greatly enhance the students Theological progress, research and ability and therefore these are offered at YaYiN
