Hebrew has evolved over the centuries. Hebrew experienced a major revival with the rebirth of the nation of Israel. Until then, various forms of dialects were being used such as yiddish and Aramaic. It was Eliezer Ben Yehuda who diligently spearheaded the reconstruction and revitalisation of the language.
